The Jayhawks defeated North Carolina, 72-69. They needed a furious comeback to secure the win; UNC was winning 40-25 at halftime.
It’s the fourth NCAA national championship for Kansas and the first since 2008.
Kansas will defend its championship in this year’s tournament as the No. 1 seed in the West region.
