Head Coach John Calipari’s Wildcats entered the tournament as the No. 1 overall seed. It was their second-straight Final Four appearance after losing to Connecticut by a single point to end the 2011 season.
Eight-time NBA All-Star Anthony Davis, a freshman at the time, took home Most Outstanding Player honors despite scoring just six points. After winning the national championship, he was picked first overall by the Pelicans in the 2012 NBA draft.
