Last Time Michigan State Missed the NCAA Tournament

Michigan State last missed the 1997 NCAA Tournament. The Spartans currently hold the second-longest active streak for consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances. 

From 1998-24, the Spartans have made 26 straight NCAA Tournaments, which is also the third longest all-time streak for consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances.

Michigan State is 2-1 overall in national championship games, winning the NCAA Tournament in 1979 and 2000 while losing in 2009.
