The Detroit Pistons won their first postseason game since 2008 before ultimately losing in Round 1 of the Eastern Conference playoffs to cap off a 44-38 campaign.

Now, Detroit aims to take the next step and join the top of the East. The Pistons enter the 2025-26 season with a win total of 46.5 via the latest NBA betting lines at the BetMGM online sportsbook.

Pistons Over/Under Wins 2025-26

  • Over 46.5 wins: +105
  • Under 46.5 wins: -125

Pistons Win Total Prediction

  • Over 45.5 wins -120 (Pick made Oct. 2)

This feels like one of the more fair win totals on the board, as I’d project the Pistons to finish with about 45 or so victories this season.

But if forced to pick, I’d say there is more upside than downside with this Detroit team.

For one, Cade Cunningham has established himself as a star. He finished seventh in MVP voting last year and earned his first All-Star selection. His trajectory can only go up as a 24-year-old point guard.

Cunningham should have some help this year, too. Jaden Ivey only played 30 games last season, so his return could provide another ball-handler in the backcourt to help take the pressure off Cunningham.

The Pistons also added Caris LeVert and Duncan Robinson in the offseason. LeVert averaged 14.9 points per game for the Atlanta Hawks last year, while Robinson is a reliable shooter at 39.7% from long range in his career.

Between Jalen Duren, Ausar Thompson, and Ron Holland, the Pistons have enough athletic players with tremendous potential. If any of them hit in a big way, it could change how everyone views Detroit in the East hierarchy.

For now, I view the Pistons as a No. 4 or No. 5 seed and finishing with a win total in the mid-40s again.
