Highest NBA Win Total in 2025-26

The Oklahoma City Thunder enter the 2025-26 season with the highest win total (62.5) in the NBA. It marks the highest preseason win total since the Golden State Warriors had an over/under of 62.5 entering 2018-19.

Lowest NBA Win Total in 2025-26

The Utah Jazz start the 2025-26 campaign with the lowest win total (18.5) in the league. It marks the lowest NBA preseason over/under since the Philadelphia 76ers had a preseason win total of 15 in 2014-15.

NBA Win Total Predictions 2025-26

  • Miami Heat Over 37.5 Wins (-110) – July 24
  • Dallas Mavericks Under 41.5 Wins (-120) – Oct. 2
  • Portland Trail Blazers Under 35.5 Wins (-115) – Oct. 2

Heat Win Total Prediction: Over 37.5 Wins

My first NBA betting future was placed on the over for the Heat’s win total in late July. This line climbed up to 39.5 before dropping back down to 37.5 after it was announced that it would take a couple of months for Tyler Herro to return to action.

I actually still like this over, though not as much with Herro on the bench. There could be a chance to buy a bigger dip during the season.

Still, there is a path in a wide-open Eastern Conference, especially with the Boston Celtics and Indiana Pacers expected to have a gap year while dealing with Achilles injuries to their top players. Even if Miami’s roster had remained the same, I liked its chances of recording 38-plus victories following a 37-win campaign last year.

However, the Heat improved their roster by trading low-impact players for Norman Powell, who was a fringe All-Star last season after averaging 21.8 points per game. They also added a floor spacer in Simone Fontechhio.

The Heat have built a solid core around Herro and Bam Adebayo. Andrew Wiggins (last year’s trade deadline addition) and second-year center Kel’el Ware should improve with another season in this system.

Miami is always a possible destination for a disgruntled star, suggesting there is some upside. At the very least, I like the floor of the Heat, who haven’t had consecutive losing seasons since 2003.

Mavericks Win Total Prediction: Under 41.5 Wins

I don’t understand the love for the Dallas Mavericks. This win total has finally climbed enough to take an under, so I’m betting against the Mavs finishing with a winning season after they went 39-43 last year.

Even with Luka Doncic on the roster, the Mavericks have averaged roughly 44 wins over the last five years. I consider myself skeptical that this team will come close to that mark without Doncic and, likely, without Kyrie Irving, who has no timetable for returning from an ACL injury.

Dallas’ season rests on the shoulders of Anthony Davis, whom Nico Harrison traded Doncic for in the most shocking deal in NBA history last February. But Davis has a well-documented injury history, missing 26 or more games in four of his past five campaigns. If he deals with an injury this year, I’m not sure the Mavs have enough to survive in a tough Western Conference.

Even with Davis, there is a chance the Mavericks’ offense is limited. They lack much creation in the half-court, putting a lot of pressure on Cooper Flagg to be a difference maker in his rookie season after being drafted No. 1 overall.

Dunks & Threes projects 41.3 wins for the Mavs, which is a fair line if a lot of things go their way. However, there are more paths to an under between Davis’ health, Irving’s non-return, and the lack of a half-court offense.

Trail Blazers Win Total Prediction: Under 35.5 Wins

I’m comfortable fading hyped teams in the West, as it’s challenging to collect too many wins in that conference. Now that the Trail Blazers’ win total has climbed up from 33.5 to 35.5, I’m ready to take an under.

Portland aspires to contend for a spot in the play-in tournament. At least I assume that’s the case after the team traded for Jrue Holiday in the offseason and brought back Damian Lillard, who is likely to return in 2026-27.

The Trail Blazers believe their 23-18 finish to the regular season last year is a sign that they are ready for the next step. However, it’s worth noting that opposing teams shot 34% from deep during the second half of the season, which was the second-lowest clip in the league. They could have benefited from some positive variance, along with the fact that more teams are actively tanking down the stretch.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m very excited to watch the Trail Blazers on NBA League Pass this year. Scoot Henderson should get complete control of the team in his third season. But leaping into play-in contention in the West will take a lot more than that.

Dunks & Threes projects 32.1 wins for Portland as of this writing, suggesting a solid edge on this under.
