  • The Knicks are 4.5-point favorites for Tuesday’s NBA Cup contest.
  • The Magic have won six games in a row.
  • I bet on Orlando (+4.5) and the under on Franz Wagner’s scoring prop.

On the final night of NBA Cup group play, the New York Knicks (12-8) will host the Orlando Magic (15-7) in a pivotal matchup at 7:30 p.m. ET on Tuesday inside the Madison Square Garden.

The winner of this showdown will claim East Group A, while the loser must post the highest point differential to notch a wild-card spot in the quarterfinals. The Magic, who are 3-0 with a +60 point differential, have a better shot at that than the Knicks and their +15 point differential.

New York is favored to win Tuesday’s contest as the NBA Cup odds front-runner, but will Orlando pull off the upset?

Here is a look at the latest Magic vs. Knicks NBA odds and my best bet ahead of Tuesday’s battle:

Magic vs. Knicks NBA Cup Odds, Dec. 3

  • Point spread: Knicks -4.5
  • Moneyline: Magic +155/Knicks -190
  • Total: 214.5

Magic vs. Knicks NBA Cup Prediction

According to the latest NBA spreads, my favorite Magic vs. Knicks NBA Cup prediction is taking the points with Orlando (+4.5) to continue exceeding expectations.

The market has underrated the Magic all year. They are 14-8 against the spread, covering the number in six straight games. This recent stretch started with an outright win over the Los Angeles Lakers as five-point underdogs.

Orlando has done all this damage without Paolo Banchero, who has been sidelined with a right torn oblique since Halloween.

This game is more of a toss-up than the latest basketball odds indicate. Dunks & Threes, an analytical site, projects an 109-108 victory for New York, so I’m happy to take the points in a low-scoring affair.

Magic vs. Knicks NBA Player Props

  • Franz Wagner Under 26.5 points (-110)
  • Karl-Anthony Towns Under 23.5 points (+100)

I’m targeting a pair of unders as my favorite Magic vs. Knicks player props in what should be a defensive battle on Tuesday.

Franz Wagner, the NBA Most Improved Player of the Year odds favorite, has put Orlando on his back since Banchero went down with an injury. He’s single-handedly kept the Magic afloat, averaging 25.4 points per game in November.

But I project an edge on his under at 26.5 points, a mark he’s only cleared once in his last four outings.

Based on the latest NBA betting lines, I also like the under for New York center Karl-Anthony Towns. Towns has failed to score 20 points in back-to-back games and now faces an Orlando team that ranks third in defensive rating.

Bettors shouldn’t expect much offense on Tuesday.
