The Detroit Pistons won their last playoff series in 2008.

Detroit eliminated Orlando in five games during the second round of the 2008 playoffs. The Pistons advanced to play the Celtics in the Eastern Conference finals. Boston won in six games and went on to win the NBA Finals.

The Pistons won back-to-back NBA championships in 1989 and 1990. This was the era of Isiah Thomas and the infamous Bad Boy Pistons.
