  • The New York Knicks went 50-32 in 2023-24.
  • New York is +650 to win its first NBA championship since 1973.

Fresh off a 50-win season, expectations are incredibly high for the New York Knicks entering the 2024-25 campaign.

NBA futures odds are available at the online sportsbook, including New York Knicks odds for NBA champion, division winner, and player awards.

Knicks Futures Odds

Win Total: 54.5
Atlantic Division: +200
Eastern Conference: +350
NBA Championship: +650

New York’s preseason NBA odds are as optimistic as ever.

The Knicks haven’t been shorter than 10/1 to win the title in the preseason since they were +700 ahead of the 2000-01 campaign.

They also haven’t had a win total this high since 1997-98, when they had an over/under of 53.5 before finishing with 43 victories.

Knicks Offseason Moves

The Knicks brought in another former Villanova player when they traded a haul of picks to land Mikal Bridges from the Brooklyn Nets.

They made another blockbuster trade in the preseason, sending Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Karl-Anthony Towns.

The trade for Bridges started the Knicks’ busy offseason. It was the first trade between the New York rivals since 1983.

The Knicks sent the Nets five first-round picks to land Bridges, who, along with Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart, was part of a Villanova team that won two NCAA championships.

Another winning move the Knicks made this summer was signing Brunson to an extension. He signed a four-year, $156.5 million extension, which represents only 58% of what he could have earned by waiting until next offseason to get a deal.

However, New York did lose center Isaiah Hartenstein to the Oklahoma City Thunder in free agency. That could be a significant departure when assessing how the Knicks stack up against the top teams in the league.

Knicks 2024 Betting Prediction

Prediction: Jalen Brunson Over 6.5 Assists per Game (-115)

It’s easy to believe in the Knicks after they traded for Towns. But the NBA betting lines reflect that, so I’d rather wait to see if there is value on this team down the road.

That said, I think the Knicks have a chance to be one of the best offensive teams in the sport.

The combo of Brunson and KAT could lead to plenty of pick-and-rolls and pick-and-pops this season. That’s why there is value in targeting Brunson’s season-long assist prop before the opener.

Brunson averaged 6.7 assists per game last year. He averaged 6.2 assists per game in his first season with the Knicks.

Hashtag Basketball projects seven dimes per contest for Brunson this year, indicating value on his over at this current number. I’m also interested in Brunson’s assist props early in the year before the market adjusts.

This is the best way to bet on the Knicks being an elite offense.
