Kevin Durant is not long for the Phoenix Suns. The future Hall-of-Famer has struggled to find his footing since his days with the Warriors, highlighted (or maybe lowlighted) by a dismal stretch of time with the Suns.

Matt Ishbia gave away much of the Suns’ roster to acquire Durant in February 2023. Now, the Suns are awful, and the Phoenix front office is looking to trade the last year or Durant’s contract to jump-start the rebuild with a few longer-term assets.

Durant’s current contract and 2025-26 salary should be major talking points this summer. The speculation about Kevin Durant’s next team will only grow louder.

Kevin Durant Contract

In August 2021, Kevin Durant signed a four-year contract extension with the Brooklyn Nets, his team at the time, worth $194.2 million.

The contract includes bonus incentive payments if Durant plays in at least 39 games and/or makes the All-Star team. There are additional team-based incentives for Durant if his team makes the playoffs and/or wins at least 43 games.

The 2025-26 season will be the final year of that extension, leading to widespread speculation that Durant could be traded this offseason.

Kevin Durant Salary

Kevin Durant will collect $53.28 million in salary for 2025-26.

Kevin Durant Cap Hit

Kevin Durant’s cap hit is projected at $54.71 million.
