The Utah Jazz start the 2025-26 season with a win total of 18.5 at the BetMGM online sportsbook.

Utah finished 17-65 last season, which marked its worst record in franchise history. Before that, the Jazz hadn’t lost more games since finishing 23-59 in their first campaign in 1974-75.

Jazz Over/Under Wins 2025-26

  • Over 18.5 wins: -135
  • Under 18.5 wins: +110

Jazz Win Total Prediction

  • Over 18.5 wins

The Jazz committed to the bit last year. At one point, they were fined by the league for violating the player participation policy.

Utah admitted that it wasn’t planning to manufacture playing time this year. However, that doesn’t mean the team doesn’t want to lose in hopes of securing a high draft pick and a franchise player in the 2026 NBA Draft.

The Jazz traded away multiple veterans to give their young players more control, which should potentially lead to more losses. John Collins, Collin Sexton, and Jordan Clarkson are all on other teams.

Still, I’d argue there are enough reasons to take the over on Utah’s win total this year.

For one, Lauri Markkanen and Walker Kessler are talented enough to pick up some wins for the Jazz. I also like the potential of Ace Bailey’s immediate impact as an intriguing NBA Rookie of the Year odds flier.

The Jazz also typically earn more wins at home than expected, as it’s proven a tougher place for visiting teams. Last year marked the first time the Jazz posted a losing record at home since the 2013-14 season.

In addition, history suggests Utah will clear this mark. All four teams with a win total of 18.5 or lower since 2001 finished over their preseason mark:

  • 2001 Bulls: 18.5 win total (21 wins)
  • 2004 Bobcats: 16.5 win total (18 wins)
  • 2013 76ers: 16.5 win total (18 wins)
  • 2014 76ers: 16 win total (18 wins)

It might seem gross, but the over is the move for this win total prediction.
