Based on the updated NBA betting market, I’m backing the under on James Harden’s points, rebounds, and assists prop (36.5) as my best bet for Game 7 of this Clippers-Nuggets Round 1 series.
Fading Harden in a high-stakes game feels right, especially after he led the team with 28 points, six rebounds, and eight assists in Game 6. It seems unlikely that the 35-year-old guard will replicate that showing in what is projected to be a low-scoring battle.
Harden hasn’t played in a Game 7 since 2023, when he recorded nine points, six rebounds, and seven assists in the Philadelphia 76ers’ loss to the Boston Celtics. He’s averaged 21.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, and seven assists in his six career Game 7s.
For this series, Harden is producing 20.7 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 8.5 assists per game. He’s only cleared this mark twice, needing to score more than 20 points in Game 1 and Game 6 to get past this number.
With this game’s total dropping 20 points since the series opener, I don’t expect players to have an easy time generating points. Rather than taking the under on the total, there is value in fading props priced closer to a player’s average.
In this case, I’ll bet against Harden playing well for a second straight elimination game.
