The Milwaukee Bucks begin the 2025-26 NBA season with a win total of 42.5 at the BetMGM online sportsbook.

Milwaukee didn’t entertain the idea of trading Giannis Antetokounmpo after Damian Lillard suffered an Achilles injury in the postseason. Instead, they pulled off one of the more surprising moves in the offseason by signing center Myles Turner.

Despite all that, the NBA odds expect the Bucks to take a slight step back after winning 48 games last year.

Bucks Over/Under Wins 2025-26

  • Over 43.5 wins: +100
  • Under 43.5 wins: -120

The Bucks began with a win total of 45.5, but their over/under has dropped a game since then.

  • Over 42.5 wins (Pick made Oct. 2)

I understand there are reasons to be critical of the Bucks’ decision to cut Lillard and sign Turner.

But as long as Antetokounmpo is on the roster, they owe it to their franchise player to build the best team possible each season.

Turner not only makes this roster better in 2025-26, but he’s the perfect type of player to pair with Antetokounmpo as a stretch big. That brings out the best version of Antetokounmpo, especially if he continues to embrace more of a point forward role.

Antetokounmpo averaged 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 6.5 assists per game last season. He led the league with an average of 11.6 two-point baskets per game, marking the third straight season that he’s paced the NBA in that category.

Antetokounmpo finished third in last year’s MVP race. He hasn’t finished higher than third since winning back-to-back MVPs in 2018-19 and 2019-20, though that could change if the Bucks win more games.

I don’t know if I see that level of upside, but Milwaukee has won at least 46 games for seven straight seasons.

Given that teams like the Boston Celtics and Indiana Pacers are expected to take a step back, it’s difficult to imagine the Bucks falling much in the Eastern Conference hierarchy.

If anything, there is room for upward movement for a Milwaukee team that was the No. 5 seed last year behind both the Celtics (No. 2) and Pacers (No. 4).
