- The Thunder are 5.5-point favorites for Tuesday’s NBA Cup championship.
- The Bucks-Thunder over/under is 215.5.
- Tipoff is 8:30 p.m. ET at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on ABC.
The NBA Cup will be decided when the Milwaukee Bucks (14-11) and Oklahoma City Thunder (20-5) play at 8:30 p.m. ET on Tuesday at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Unlike the debut of this event, this year’s championship game is a possible NBA Finals preview and a battle between two MVP candidates.Â
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has the Thunder as the top team in the Western Conference after they were the No. 1 seed last year. Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks have rounded into form following a sluggish start to the season.
The Thunder are 5.5-point favorites to win the NBA Cup in Las Vegas, but will the Bucks rise to the occasion?
Here is a look at the latest Bucks vs. Thunder NBA odds and my best bet ahead of Tuesday’s showdown:
Bucks vs. Thunder NBA Odds, Dec. 17
- Point spread: Thunder -5.5
- Moneyline: Bucks +185/Thunder -225
- Total: 215.5
Bucks vs. Thunder NBA Cup Prediction – Tuesday, Dec. 17
Based on the latest NBA betting lines, my favorite Bucks vs. Thunder NBA Cup prediction is taking the points with the Bucks (+5.5) in a game that could come down to the wire.
The Thunder have handled business to this point. They won 118-104 as four-point favorites against the Dallas Mavericks in the quarterfinals and 111-96 as five-point favorites against the Houston Rockets in the semifinals.
The Thunder are the best defensive team in the league, but slowing down Antetokounmpo is an entirely different challenge.
Antetokounmpo leads the league in scoring with an average of 32.7 points per game. In the semifinals, he finished with 32 points, 14 rebounds, and nine assists during Saturday’s 110-102 victory over the Atlanta Hawks.
I anticipate Antetokounmpo will keep Milwaukee within striking distance throughout Tuesday’s matchup. I’m happy to take the points in this one.
Prediction: Bucks +5.5
