Tigers vs. Mariners Prediction: Game 1 ALDS Preview

  • Get MLB expert picks and analysis for Tigers vs. Mariners.
  • The Mariners are -190 favorites in Game 1.
  • Seattle is -185 to win the ALDS.

The final game of Saturday’s MLB slate is a matchup between the Detroit Tigers and Seattle Mariners. Game 1 of the American League Division Series is set for 8:38 p.m. ET at T-Mobile Park on FS1.

This is a matchup featuring two teams desperate to make a deep run for their fans. The Mariners haven’t reached the ALCS since 2001. The Tigers haven’t done so since 2013.

Seattle enters this best-of-five series as the favorite to advance, but Detroit is coming off a 2-1 series win in the AL Wild Card round.

Here’s a look at the latest MLB odds and my Tigers vs. Mariners prediction ahead of Game 1:

Tigers vs. Mariners Prediction for Game 1

Per the opening MLB betting lines, I like the over on 1.5 hits, runs, and RBIs for Seattle’s Randy Arozarena as my favorite Tigers vs. Mariners prediction for Game 1.

Arozarena is back in the playoffs, a pleasant sight for baseball fans. He had three different trips to the postseason as a member of the Tampa Bay Rays, hitting .349 with 11 home runs, 17 RBIs, and 23 runs in 28 games. He’s cleared this prop 19 times over that span.

Because Arozarena hasn’t had a deep playoff run since 2021, it’d be easy to forget how much he levels up his game in October. That’s certainly great news for the Mariners, who are seeking their first pennant and World Series ring.

This season, Arozarena recorded a .238 batting average with 27 home runs, 76 RBIs, and 95 runs in 160 games. He generated a 3.9 bWAR.

The postseason is all about star players delivering, and Arozarena can provide that for a Seattle team favored to win on Saturday and in this series.

Prediction: Randy Arozarena Over 1.5 hits, runs, and RBIs (-110)
