The 2025 MLB postseason is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, Sept. 30. Here’s where the Detroit Tigers sit in the current MLB playoff picture:

Tigers Playoff Chances

The Tigers’ playoff odds are -800, which gives them an implied probability of 88.89%. FanGraphs currently gives Detroit an 84.2% chance of making it.

For comparison, Detroit was +110 to make the playoffs in the preseason.

Here’s how Detroit’s postseason odds compare to the rest of the AL Central:

  • Guardians: -1600
  • Royals: OTB
  • Twins: OTB
  • White Sox: OTB

Tigers Playoff Seed

If the season ended today, the Tigers would be the No. 6 seed in the American League. They would face the No. 3 Cleveland Guardians in a best-of-three Wild Card series. Those two teams also enter the final weekend tied for the division lead in the AL Central.

Last Time the Tigers Made the Playoffs

The Tigers last made the playoffs in 2024, marking their first postseason berth since 2014.

Detroit’s last World Series victory was in 1984, though it did win the AL pennant in 2006 and 2012.
