The Tigers went 86-76 in 2024 to reach the ALDS.
I predict Detroit will win the AL Central for the first time since 2014.

Thanks to a stellar second half, the Detroit Tigers notched their first playoff berth in a decade with their 86-76 finish in 2024.

The Tigers hope to build on that momentum after losing to the Cleveland Guardians in the ALDS.

Here’s a look at the latest MLB betting market and my prediction for the Tigers in 2025:

The Tigers’ MLB odds are giving them more respect this spring after a hot finish to their 2024 campaign. They are 30/1 to win the World Series after being 66/1 last preseason.

Detroit’s win total has also increased by two games.

Tigers Depth Chart 2025

According to RosterResource, the Tigers made a couple of notable upgrades to their depth chart in 2025.

While not winning the Alex Bregman sweepstakes, Detroit signed Gleyber Torres as the team’s second baseman. Right-hander Jack Flaherty is also back in the rotation after the Tigers traded him away to the Los Angeles Dodgers at last year’s deadline.

Tigers Player to Watch in 2025

Right-hander Jackson Jobe could provide some intriguing depth to a Detroit rotation that lacked much behind Tarik Skubal last postseason.

Jobe, who is 22 and the former No. 3 overall pick in the 2021 draft, pitched 5 2/3 relief innings in the majors last year between the regular season and playoffs. I expect MLB’s top pitching prospect to flash his full potential as a starter this year.

Jobe is +650 to win AL Rookie of the Year, giving him the third-best odds in the market. It’s worth watching how his odds adjust during the upcoming season.

Tigers Betting Prediction for 2025

Based on the updated MLB odds market, I predict the Tigers will win the AL Central (+275) during the 2025 season.

The Tigers haven’t won the division since 2014, but I like the odds of them ending that streak. This +250 price tag marks the team’s best odds to win the AL Central since 2015 (+200), and the odds have actually moved since opening at +290.

FanGraphs projects a competitive race between the Tigers and Minnesota Twins. Detroit is projected for 82.7 wins, just behind Minnesota’s 84-78 record.

Considering the shaky health of the Twins’ best players, I’d prefer to back the Tigers in the division market. Skubal is back to lead the way after last year’s Cy Young campaign, but Detroit has room for even more growth between its young players in the lineup and pitching staff.

The Tigers’ time is now.
