  • Detroit's Tarik Skubal enters 2025 as the best pitcher in baseball.

While pitchers aren’t asked to do as much in this era of baseball, the top hurlers in the league typically stand above the rest.

It’s important for MLB odds bettors to know who is pitching in any given game, particularly when one of the top starters takes the mound.

So, who are the best pitchers entering the 2025 MLB season?

1. Tarik Skubal

Coming off an AL Cy Young odds campaign, Skubal has established himself as the best pitcher in baseball.

2. Paul Skenes

Skenes took the league by storm, showing he has the best stuff in baseball during his rookie campaign. His second season could be even more dominant.

3. Zack Wheeler

Wheeler leads all pitchers in fWAR (22.7) since 2021, demonstrating his consistent excellence.

4. Garrett Crochet

Now that Crochet has been traded from the White Sox to Red Sox, baseball fans will get to appreciate his pitching prowess on a national stage.

5. Cole Ragans

Ragans has been one of the more exciting pitchers in the league since being traded from the Rangers to the Royals at the 2023 deadline.

6. Logan Webb

Webb has defined consistency during his six seasons with the Giants. He’s second in total innings (761 1/3) since 2021.

7. Logan Gilbert

The Mariners have the best rotation in the American League, but Gilbert is the best of the bunch after an All-Star campaign in 2024.

8. Blake Snell

The two-time Cy Young winner signed a five-year, $182 million contract with the Dodgers this winter. Don’t be surprised if the best is yet to come for Snell.

9. Tyler Glasnow

Glasnow posted a 3.49 ERA in his first season with the Dodgers, but his expected ERA of 2.65 indicates he could be even better in 2025.

10. Dylan Cease

Cease was traded from the White Sox to the Padres last spring and joined the list of pitchers to throw a no-hitter during the 2024 season.
