MLB bettors at the BetMGM sportsbook loved historically good, big-market teams during the 2025 regular season. Bettors were less interested in small-market teams unaccustomed to sitting atop the division standings.
The New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers paced run-line and moneyline betting this year, followed by two repeat division winners with World Series titles and several League Championship Series appearances in the last two decades, the Detroit Tigers and Philadelphia Phillies.
Other 90-win teams without recent success in the division and/or postseason received less interest. The Milwaukee Brewers, Toronto Blue Jays, and Seattle Mariners all finished outside the top eight in both handle and tickets. And with the exception of Cal Raleigh and Vladimir Guerrero Jr., players on those teams weren’t overwhelmingly targeted with prop bets.
