World Series odds for the 2026 MLB season are already available at the BetMGM online sportsbook.
Fresh off an epic 2025 Fall Classic, the Los Angeles Dodgers begin as the betting favorites to win it all next year. They won a seven-game thriller over the Toronto Blue Jays, becoming the first team to win consecutive championships since the New York Yankees claimed three World Series titles in a row between 1998 and 2000.

Who Will Win the World Series in 2026?
According to the initial World Series odds, the Dodgers have the best chance to win the championship in 2026. Their price tag of +340 suggests an implied probability of 22.73% to win their third straight World Series.
The Dodgers have now started as the betting favorites to win the World Series in back-to-back seasons. They began with a +400 price tag last October before trading at the top of the market for much of the year.
Los Angeles didn’t relinquish its top spot until the final week of the regular season, when the Philadelphia Phillies became the favorites after securing a bye. The Dodgers reclaimed their status as the favorites following their wild-card win and remained there until losing Game 5 of the World Series.
With that context in mind, the Dodgers will likely remain favored to win the Fall Classic for the next several months. Their odds could improve by landing a big free agent or making a notable trade in the offseason. Los Angeles was a +240 favorite by the spring last year.
That said, the 2025 campaign is a lesson that baseball can be an unpredictable sport. The Blue Jays began at +6000 to win the World Series last October. They were +6600 to win it all by Opening Day.
The Blue Jays started with the eighth-best odds at +2000 in the 2026 market, improving to +1300 after signing Dylan Cease in free agency. Toronto could still move up this board if it adds a bat.
With free agency underway, these odds will adjust as notable moves unfold. My advice is to target the teams with aggressive front offices, as the last several World Series champions have typically come from the MLB teams with the highest payrolls.
The Dodgers had the highest payroll in the sport last year, while the Blue Jays were fifth. Los Angeles is the third different team in the previous 15 years to win the World Series while having the highest payroll in the league.
Since 2011, 12 of the last 15 World Series champions have finished the year with a top-nine payroll in the sport. The average payroll rank over that span is 6.4.
With that in mind, I have circled the New York Mets (+1400) and Atlanta Braves (+2000) as potential targets in this market. The Mets project to have the second-highest payroll in the sport in 2026, while the Braves are currently sixth.
