Now that the 2025 MLB season has ended, it’s time to turn the page toward the offseason.
Free agency will once again dominate the winter. While this year’s class lacks the star power from 2025, the depth might be even better. There will be players who impact the World Series odds based on their landing spot.
Here’s a look at the top free agents available this offseason:
MLB Free Agent Rankings 2026

Best Available MLB Free Agents in 2026
1. Kyle Tucker, OF
In his lone season with the Chicago Cubs, Kyle Tucker posted a 4.6 WAR with 22 home runs and 73 RBIs. His power was down in Chicago compared to his seven years with the Houston Astros, which is likely explained away by a right-hand injury that he suffered in June.
With some time off to heal, the 29-year-old outfielder is in line for the biggest payday of the offseason.
2. Bo Bichette, SS
Coming off a World Series appearance, Bo Bichette could be taking his talents elsewhere after seven years with the Toronto Blue Jays. He hit .311 with a .357 on-base percentage and a 3.5 WAR last year.
Even though he will likely move to second base, Bichette should be a valuable target entering his age-28 season.
3. Alex Bregman, 3B
Alex Bregman opted out of his contract with the Boston Red Sox after just one season. He posted a 3.5 WAR in 114 games with the Red Sox, rebounding his production a bit from 2024. Bregman, who will be turning 32 next March, is likely looking for a long-term deal this winter.
4. Kyle Schwarber, DH
Kyle Schwarber clubbed an MLB-best 132 RBIs in 2025. He might be a designated hitter and turning 33 in March, but he clearly can bring pop to any lineup. I could see Schwarber getting a nice contract as a consolation prize if a team misses out on some of the names above him.
5. Cody Bellinger, OF
Cody Bellinger generated 5.1 WAR with the New York Yankees in 2025, driving in 98 RBIs and posting seven outs above average in the outfield. There is a reason why the 30-year-old lefty opted out of $25 million for the final year of his contract. He’s getting much more this winter.
6. Pete Alonso, 1B
It feels impossible that Pete Alonso would play for anyone other than the New York Mets. He’s the franchise’s all-time home run leader with 264 in seven seasons. He hit 41 doubles last year in his age-30 campaign.
7. Munetaka Murakami, 3B/1B
Assuming Munetaka Murakami gets posted this winter, plenty of MLB teams will be interested in his left-handed power bat as a 26-year-old corner infielder. He was limited to 56 games this past season, hitting 22 homers.
8. Framber Valdez, LHP
Left-hander Framber Valdez, who will soon be 32, has received Cy Young votes in three of his past four seasons, including a fifth-place finish in 2022. He has posted a 3.36 ERA across eight campaigns with the Astros. He has been consistently reliable and has earned a raise.
9. Ranger Suarez, LHP
Lefty Ranger Suarez, 30, might not have the accolades, earning one All-Star nod in 2024. But he’s been highly effective for the last eight years with the Phillies, posting a 3.38 ERA and 705 strikeouts in 762 innings.
10. Dylan Cease, RHP
Dylan Cease hasn’t come close to replicating his runner-up finish in the 2022 AL Cy Young race, in which he posted a 2.20 ERA in 184 innings for the Chicago White Sox. Cease is coming off an age-29 campaign where he posted a 4.55 ERA in 32 starts for the San Diego Padres.
