Corbin Burnes is projected to be the starting pitcher for the Arizona Diamondbacks when they host the Chicago Cubs on opening day on March 27.
After spending the 2024 season with the Baltimore Orioles, Burnes signed a six-year, $210 million contract to become Arizona’s ace. Burnes struck out 11 batters across six innings of one-run ball in his opening day start for Baltimore last year.
Zac Gallen, who is also one of Arizona’s top starters this year, has been given the ball in the last two opening day games.
