My favorite Blue Jays vs. Mariners prediction is the over on the total (seven) for Game 3 of the ALCS on Wednesday.
The market is giving a ton of credit to a change of venue in this matchup. There have been 17 total runs scored through two games in the ALCS. I expect T-Mobile Park to see plenty of offense, which should help get this total over the number.
Ballpark Pal’s model projects 7.58 runs in Game 3, forecasting a 3.80-3.78 victory for Toronto. That would seem to follow the pattern of this head-to-head matchup, as six of the eight meetings this year have finished over the closing total.
Bieber, a Trade Deadline acquisition, has made one playoff start this October. He lasted 2 2/3 innings, giving up three runs on five hits. Bieber is giving up a lot of hard contact this year, surrendering a hard-hit rate of 48.2% for his worst mark in his career.
Kirby, meanwhile, has posted his worst ERA (4.21) in his career this season. There is a chance Toronto’s bats come alive after scoring 34 runs in the ALDS. The Blue Jays have only four runs through two games in the ALCS.
