The Sacramento Kings had maintained the longest drought for many years, having missed the NBA playoffs every year since 2006. That streak officially ended in March 2023, when the Kings clinched a playoff berth.
In 2025, the Ottawa Senators extricated themselves from the list after a 97-point season pushed them into the Stanley Cup Playoffs.Â
A few months earlier, the Denver Broncos made the AFC playoff bracket as the No. 7 seed. Denver’s misery transferred to the struggling Rockies, who haven’t made the MLB playoffs in seven years and seem very far away from any level of postseason contention. Â
