LIV Golf is a professional golf league that was launched in 2022. It was founded by LIV Golf Investments, a company backed by the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund (PIF).
The league offers significantly higher prize money compared to traditional golf events, and it also features a more condensed format. LIV tournaments typically involve 48 players and are played over three days (rather than the standard four-day format for PGA Tour events).
The most popular players who play on LIV are Bryson DeChambeau, Jon Rahm, Brooks Koepka, Cameron Smith, Dustin Johnson, Phil Mickelson, and Joaquin Niemann.
LIV golfers cannot compete in PGA Tour events, but can in the majors if eligible.
