How Many Different Sports Are In the Summer Olympics?

There are 32 different sports represented in the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics.

However, that doesn’t necessarily mean there are only 32 events. Many sports include multiple variations, not to mention separate men’s and women’s competitions.

Take basketball, for example. Basketball is just one sport, but the Olympic games currently includes both 3×3 basketball and traditional 5×5 basketball, with each separated into both men’s and women’s competitions.

Other sports, like Aquatics, comprise dozens of events.
