As the No. 1 seed in the College Football Playoff, Georgia had the right to select their semifinal site. Unsurprisingly, the Bulldogs selected the Peach Bowl in Atlanta – approximately 70 miles away from Athens – instead of the Fiesta Bowl in Glendale, Ariz.
Georgia will travel a bit further for the College Football Playoff National Championship.
Where Is the College Football Playoff National Championship?
The College Football Playoff National Championship is at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif.
Completed in 2020, the $5 million stadium is about five miles west of Los Angeles International Airport. It hosted Super Bowl LVI and is scheduled to host matches for the 2026 World Cup and events for the 2028 Summer Olympics, including opening and closing ceremonies.
The championship is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET on Monday, Jan. 9.
As of Monday morning, Georgia is a 12.5-point favorite over TCU. The Bulldogs opened as 13.5-point favorite as they seek a second straight championship.
