Ole Miss vs. LSU: Prediction, Odds, Betting Preview

  • Ole Miss vs. LSU kicks off Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
  • The over is 6-2 in the last eight games between Ole Miss and LSU.

It’s moving day in the SEC. Saturday’s college football betting schedule includes an excellent matchup. Four different SEC conference games involve at least one ranked team and a point spread lower than 10.

Alabama and Georgia will get a lot of the headlines, and I’m personally quite curious to see what Mississippi State can do against Tennessee.

In Oxford, one of the biggest games of the day takes No. 4 LSU on the road to a former divisional rival. The winner will be one step closer to nabbing a spot in the SEC championship.

Ole Miss vs. LSU Odds

  • Point Spread: Ole Miss -1.5
  • Moneyline: Ole Miss -120  |  LSU +100
  • Over/Under: 55.5

Ole Miss vs. LSU Preview

At a glance, this game codes as an offensive game. LSU is pumping out Heisman quarterbacks and NFL wide receivers at Industrial Revolution rates, and Ole Miss has been offensively dynamic with Lane Kiffin at the helm.

Indeed, the over is 6-2 in the last eight games between LSU and Ole Miss. That includes their last game in Oxford, in 2023, when the Rebels won 55-49.

But a deeper look suggests this game might be lower. Despite the skill and high-level play of LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier, the Tigers are 3-1 to the under this year.

This game will be a matchup of good offense against good defense. Nussmeier will be tested by Ole Miss’ strong pass defense, which rates at -0.30 EPA/pass allowed. That’s 18th nationally.

The LSU defense, for its part, ranks 15th in EPA/rush allowed and 3rd down success rate.

The expectation is that this game will be a shootout. In reality, the early profiles of these teams suggest there will be field goals, punts, and some missed fourth-down attempts.

Ole Miss vs. LSU Prediction

I am predicting Under 55.5 for Saturday’s game between LSU and Ole Miss.

Some bettors will key in on the fact that the home team has won five straight. Others may want the even odds with Nussmeier and LSU. But I’d prefer to stay away from the point spread in general and play the contrarian angle with the total.

Prediction: Under 55.5
