Well, Washington coach Jedd Fisch confirmed that he expects everyone who’s not hurt to play in the game on Saturday. That means it’s full-strength Washington heading to Los Angeles to take on Boise.Â
Boise is going to be fired up to win some regional recruiting points by scoring a win against one of the local P4 powers. But this is not a vintage Broncos team, starting with the rush defense up front. They rank 123rd in FBS for EPA/rush allowed.
Washington, meanwhile, ranks 19th in EPA/rush, 18th in overall EPA/play, and sixth in success rate on offense.Â
I think the Huskies will get out to a fast start running the ball against Boise, and Broncos quarterback Maddux Madsen – who is healthy enough to play again and returned for the Mountain West championship – will need to throw to keep Boise in the game.
The passing game is where Boise wants to be anyway, since Washington is stout at the line of scrimmage but beatable on the back end.Â
LA Bowl Prediction: Washington vs. Boise State
I am predicting an over in Saturday’s LA Bowl. Washington should score plenty, and Boise will be successful throwing the ball and find some garbage-time scores.
