College GameDay is making its second-ever trip to Lubbock on Saturday for Week 11 of the 2025 college football season.

The Red Raiders are expected to handily beat undefeated BYU, at least according to BetMGM’s Texas Tech football odds.

For now, BYU is one of only four remaining undefeated FBS college football teams.

When Was the Last Time College GameDay Went to Texas Tech?

College GameDay has made one previous trip to Lubbock. That was during the famous 2008 Big 12 season, when Texas, Oklahoma, and Texas Tech all beat each other.

GameDay’s trip to Lubbock on Nov. 1, 2008, was one of those three games. No. 6 Texas Tech beat No. 1 Texas 39-33 behind Michael Crabtree’s 10 catches for 127 yards and a touchdown.

Hopefully, it won’t be another 17 years before Lubbock reappears on the College GameDay schedule.
