The SEC instituted a football championship game in 1992. Since then ESPN College GameDay has broadcast its show from there 12 times, including in 2025.

The SEC moved its championship game from Birmingham to the Georgia Dome in 1994. GameDay’s first trip to the SEC championship game was in 2003.

Since then, the cast has been frequent visitors.

When Was the Last Time College GameDay Went to the SEC Championship Game?

College GameDay has now been to the SEC championship during conference championship week for three straight years.

In 2022, College GameDay’s predictions were broadcast from the Big 12 championship game. It proved to be a great choice.

Kansas State beat undefeated TCU in overtime 31-28, but the Horned Frogs made the four-team College Football Playoff anyway.
