Carson Wentz Contract: Salary, Guaranteed Money

Carson Wentz was somewhere in the NFL MVP conversation during the 2017 season, when he suffered an untimely ACL tear in Week 14. At the time, he had 3,782 passing yards, 33 touchdowns, and seven picks, to go along with 150 yards and two scores on the ground.

Wentz returned in 2018 and appeared in 39 more games with the Eagles through 2020. But in 2021, the Eagles traded a clearly regressing Wentz to Indianapolis for a first-round draft pick and a second pick from the third round.

That began Wentz’ whip around the league. With the aging star set to turn 33 this season, that whirlwind hasn’t stopped yet. He’s been with four other teams since the Colts, including his current tenure with the Vikings.

From 2022-24, Wentz played only two games with a QBR above 50. But with J.J. McCarthy now ailing or ineffective (or both) in Minnesota, the Vikings could be the place where Wentz finally finds the late-career success he’s been hoping for.

Carson Wentz Contract

Carson Wentz signed a one-year deal with the Vikings worth $1,422,500.

Carson Wentz Salary

Carson Wentz will earn $1,422,500 from his NFL salary in 2025. Most of that comes from his $1.255 million in base compensation, which is the NFL veteran minimum salary.

Carson Wentz Guaranteed Money

The only money contractually guaranteed to Carson Wentz in his current contract is his $167,500 signing bonus. The Vikings can cleanly cut ties with him at any time.

Carson Wentz Career Earnings

After the 2025 season, Caron Wentz will have earned $134.2 million in NFL career earnings. Most of that came from the four-year, $128 million extension he signed with the Eagles in 2019.

That contract was eventually traded to Indianapolis and, later, Washington.
