Conference Records In the 2025-26 Bowl Season

In this Dec. 29, 2018, file photo, Nevada running back Toa Taua (35) carries during the first half of the Arizona Bowl NCAA college football bowl game against Arkansas State in Tucson, Ariz. Nevada sophomore running back Taua rushed for 872 yards and six TDs last year for Nevada. Coming off breakout freshman seasons, Purdue wide receiver Rondale Moore and Nevada's Taua headline Friday night's non-conference opener on the edge of the Sierra where both third-year coaches hope to turn the corner on rebuilding efforts.

Players come and go, but the conference wars are forever.

If you can bet on only one sure thing in this life, it’s that college sports fans are obsessed with comparing the conference of their preferred team against other conferences.

This is clearest in March, when college basketball fans start tracking conference records in the NCAA men’s basketball tournament. To a lesser extent, college football fans are interested in similar stats during bowl seasons.

Sun Belt fans love to talk up their frequent overperformances in bowl games.

Big Ten fans are quick to point out which conference has won the last two national championships, forgetting most of the 20 that came before.

And, of course, the legions of SEC defenders are happy to remind you that all their wins are evidence of their permanent superiority. If a team from the SEC lost a game, it’s simply because they didn’t care about that particular game.

What kind of content writer would I be if I couldn’t collate this data for all you conference warrior hooligans? Here’s the updated bowl game data on which conferences are winning and losing – both during this season and in previous ones.
