  • Lewis Crocker will face Paddy Donovan in a rematch on Sept. 13 in Northern Ireland.
  • Their first fight ended in a disqualification in favor of Crocker.
  • Crocker is the +350 betting underdog, and Donovan is the -455 betting favorite.

After the controversial and dramatic ending to their first earlier this year, Lewis Crocker and Paddy Donovan will meet again in a rematch on Sept. 13 at Windsor Park in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

This second meeting between the two boxing stars will have more at stake, as the vacant IBF welterweight title is on the line. Jarron Ennis vacated this belt because he moved up in the junior middleweight division.

Despite losing the first match via disqualification, Donovan still heads into the rematch as the betting favorite with -455 boxing odds because of his incredible performance during that bout. Meanwhile, Crocker is going to be the +350 betting underdog.

Lewis Crocker vs. Paddy Donovan 2: Prediction

I predict that Donovan will secure a TKO/KO finish over Crocker in this rematch due to the high work rate and volume of punches he generates, similar to their previous fight. It’ll be a replay of the same result, but this time, it will not be a disqualification result.

Donovan should capitalize on his speed and footwork advantage against Crocker to fire his combinations and inflict the same damage against him. The only improvements he needs are to avoid the frequent clash of heads and to avoid exchanging on the pocket with Crocker.

Crocker found success when he forced Donovan to fight him at close range, as he was able to land several solid and powerful punches that rocked him multiple times. But that strategy won’t work anymore against Donovan, because he’s a step faster than him, and he was able to take his best shots.

With the disappointment and the mentality of getting back that DQ loss in his record, I believe that Donovan will come out swinging for the fence and try to take Crocker’s head off to prove that the only defeat in his pro record is only a fluke.

Lewis Crocker’s Recent Fight Results

Crocker made his pro debut in 2017 and has since won all his fights in the paid ranks. Along the way, he was able to capture the WBO European welterweight title and successfully defended it twice before he moved up in weight.

After his move to the heavier division, he remained undefeated with notable wins against Tyrone McKenna, Jose Felix, Conah Walker, and, most recently, against Donovan. In this span, he also won the vacant WBO Inter-Continental welterweight belt.

Paddy Donovan’s Recent Fight Results

Donovan is an amateur boxing star who competed in various AIBA and European tournaments before he jumped up to the pro ranks in 2019. His maiden pro match against Arturo Lopez ended in a first-round knockout finish.

Since that successful debut, Donovan has won his next 13 fights and scored 10 stoppage wins in those triumphs. Several of his notable wins were against Lewis Ritson, William Andres Herrera, and Danny Ball.
