Internet sensation Jake Paul is scheduled to face former unified heavyweight boxing world champion and Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua on Dec. 19 at the Kaseya Center in Miami.

Joshua was the replacement opponent for Paul, who was supposed to fight WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis on Nov. 14, but the fight was scrapped after a lawsuit was filed against Davis.

With the massive weight difference and the stacked resume of Joshua, Paul will be the +600 boxing betting underdog in this match. Also, this is the first time that he’ll face an active former world champion in his boxing career.

Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua: Prediction

I predict a TKO/KO win for Joshua against Paul because he’s just too big, a better overall boxer, and a stronger puncher than the YouTuber-turned-boxer. Additionally, the former unified heavyweight boxing world champion will have a 5-inch height and a 6-inch reach advantage.

Although Joshua is coming off a loss in his previous match, I still think he’s at the peak of his career and can put Paul to sleep with a single punch when landed clean. It feels like a replay of the Joshua-Ngannou fight when Joshua was selective of his shots.

Joshua was patient and waited for Ngannou to move forward and open up before he countered with his atomic right-hand punch. Once this punch lands on Paul, I think that he’ll not just go down, but potentially be removed from consciousness.

Paul has had problems fighting pro boxers of his size, as he was defeated by Tommy Fury before. So as passionate as he is in the sport, he won’t be able to handle the power and technical skills of a boxing world champion like Joshua.

Jake Paul’s Recent Fight Results

Paul is an internet and YouTube sensation who decided to carve out a career in boxing. He made his first pro fight in January 2020 against Ali Eson Gib, finishing him in the first round via TKO.

Then, he won his next five bouts against retired NBA players and MMA fighters before suffering a split-decision loss to Tommy Fury in February 2023. After that setback, Paul went on a revenge tour, scoring wins over Nate Diaz, Andre August, Ryan Boulard, Mike Perry, Mike Tyson, and most recently, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

Anthony Joshua’s Recent Fight Results

Joshua was a former Olympic gold medalist at the 2012 London Olympics before transitioning to the pro ranks. He made his pro debut against Emanuele Leo in October 2013 and TKO’d him in the first round.

Since then, he won his next 14 fights and captured several minor titles along the way. In April 2016, he was pitted against Charles Martin for the IBF heavyweight title and stopped him in the second round via knockout.

He added the IBO and WBO heavyweight titles with wins over Wladimir Klitschko, Carlos Takam, Joseph Parker, and Alexander Povetkin. Joshua’s first career loss was courtesy of Andy Ruiz, who TKO’d him in June 2019.

In their rematch, he got back at Ruiz with a decision win. In his last eight fights, he recorded five wins and three losses, and his most recent one was a fifth-round knockout loss to Daniel Dubois in September 2024.
